In this new era of globalization, learning a new language is becoming a vital part of preparing for an increasing number of careers. In today's global economy, the demand for language skills continues to grow as governments, businesses, and organizations build relationships that are increasing globally. Learning a new language helps one become a globally cultured, diversity-sensitive individual ready to thrive in a new era of globalization in today's increasingly interdependent global community.

History
In 1998, a resident of Hawai'i sought to establish a Language Program with higher educational standards and a commitment to individualized attention for all students. Profesora Quiroga-Verhaaf founded Global Language Hawai'i on the island of Oahu. The Motto of Global Languages Hawai'i is: Learning a new language is a sign of courage, bravery, respect, diligence, kindness, patience, humility, and endurance (Profesora Quiroga-Verhaaf).
