Course: Olelo Hawai'i
ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi is the soul of this ʻāina, and the spirit of the Islands. We are living through the revival of the Hawai'ian culture and language. Everyone should learn and speak Hawai'ian to feel a connection to this paradise. Individual efforts and organizational powers have confirmed that the Hawai'ian culture and language are again reverberating across our pae ʻāina. Be part of the movement. E ola ka ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi!
Course Description: Beginners 1 & 2
A beginning immersion experience in Hawaiian focusing on the spoken use of the language. 1) Phonetics & usage referring to locations and relationships, 2) Usage referring to processes in language transfer, 3) Stories, 4) Music, 5) Hula, and 6) Development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at the beginners level 1 & 2. Immersion/Bilingual.
Age Group: 3rd to 5th Grade
Day: Saturday (13 classes)
Time: 3:30 - 4:15 PM
